ABSTRACT :

District Cooperative Marketing Societies (DCMS) play a pivotal role for the benefit of farmers which helps in marketing of agricultural produce at a better price. The DCMS supplies inputs at appropriate time and price. The strength of DCMS is the strength of the farmers in that district. The DCMS have allied activities that are required for the market related activities, processing, grading and post-harvest activities to increase the economic development of the farmers. To study this, the DCMS Anathapur was selected with 7 years of data. It was found that the DCMS was in losses and requires transformation by linking its activities with Rythu Barosa Kendras, NCDEX and by taking up processing activities
